This positive response starts at the very first moment of impressions; which is why we have the adage, "You never get a second chance to make a first impression." The first impression starts with the add we write for our car. Before a person can ever buy a car, they first must be enticed to come and look at your car. Writing a compelling used car ad is the first step:

We can do this with some of my useful car detailing tips that are sure to put you to the top amongst your competition.



Tips from the Expert





  • Have car washed prior to any viewings.


  • Make sure windows are spotless inside and out.


  • Use a clay bar on your cars paint to make smooth by removing any embedded pollution.


  • Wax car using a quality paste wax to add shine and brilliance to paint.


  • Remove all personal items from car; remember, you want the potential buyer able to imagine it is theirs, not yours.


  • Remove any and all window and bumper stickers from car.


  • Use tire dressing on tires to make black and shiny.


  • Spray tire dressing in wheel wells to make look black and clean.


  • Use terry cloth rag dampened with a household cleaner like Simple Green to wipe down all areas within cars interior.


  • Spray Simple Green onto heavily soiled seating and floor mats first, scrub with plastic scrub brush, then mop up with rag; repeat as often as needed for an extra clean look.


  • Use clean painting brush to dust all vents and gauges from dash area.
